Our Environment
What is "Our Environment?" We are all sharing the Earth. We all depend on the environment to sustain our lives here on Earth. Without the environment we would not be able to live here on Earth. Are you getting it?
Meat Is a Global Warming Issue
By Dan Brook, E Magazine. Posted August 24, 2006.
Put that hamburger down! Our carnivorous habits are partially responsible for the dire threat of global warming. www.alternet.org/envirohealth/40639
Our Earth
Our environment - common heritage of mankind. I believe we should be very concerned about how our earth is being cared for. Let's take care of it in order for future generations to be able to enjoy life on earth. There was a time when I was worried about nuclear bombs. Nuclear war is nothing compared to what is being done to our environment. Nuclear waste is of course a huge problem. War - Destructer of God's Creation. Sacred Places on Earth
Without the environment, there will be no clean water, clean air or soil to grow the food we need. Without oceans, life as we know it would cease to exist. Earth has been a million years in the making. Climate Change - Global Warming
Personally, I believe it is too late to stop Earth's climate change / global warming. We were warned over 30 years ago.... And now we are busy bombing and attacking Mother Earth ... We are still pouring RoundUp, etc., on our Earth, destroying our water, air and land ...
Thank God for environmentalists. Without them we would all be in bad shape. They put their lives on the line when they protest against corporations damaging our environment. Yes, it is OUR ENVIRONMENT. We can not live without OUR ENVIRONMENT. The environment is the background of our life here on Earth.
If you hate environmentalists then you hate Mother Earth and should consider moving off of our planet. Remember the "America, Love it leave it"? Earth is the environment. I say "Earth, Love it or leave it."

Are you still eating meat??? Read on ....
Read Deadly Feasts, by Richard Rhodes. It is about tracking the secrets of a terrifying new plague ... cows are being fed meat and bone meal to maximize their growth ... Daiy cows are slaughter for meat when their milk production drops after three or four pregnancies ... the meat is ground up for hamburger...cattle brains go into hamburger as well ... diseased ... Please read the book for more horrors than I thought imagined. I still find it difficult to believe that there are people that are making these decisions that directly affect the health and very lives of people all over the world.
Adding growth hormones to our food supply, into cows which produce milk, which humans drink, could be causing humans to become larger. I have noticed that our young are larger than the children I attended school with. People are sicker now than when I was younger.
Biotechnology, The 'Frankenstein Food' Flap. Greenpeace Protest: Are humans today's laboratory animals? News that U.S. agribusinesses are exporting genetically altered soybeans to Europe has touched off protests from political "greens' in Britain and Germany.

The World Watch Institute Report - State of the World World Watch is a great annual desktop reference used by government officials, corporate planners, journalists, and concerned citizens in 120 countries, and in more than 30 languages. I have been reading the State of the World Reports, founded in 1974, for a number of years now. Following are a few lines of importance to us all:
The fastest progress is now occurring on issues that were first identified decades ago. Five years after the historic U.N. Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, the world is falling well short of achieving its central goal-an environmentally sustainable global economy.
Since the Earth Summit in 1992, human numbers have grown by roughly 450 million, which exceeds the combined populations of the United States and Russia. Annual emissions of carbon, which produce carbon-dioxide, the leading greenhouse gas, have climbed to a new high, altering the very composition of the atmosphere and the earth's heat balance.
The world has so far failed to meet the challenge of integrating environmental strategies into economic policy. Global environmental trends are dominated by just a few nations. "The Legacy of Rio" by Christopher Flavin, looks at eight countries-four industrial and four developing-that together account for 56 percent of the world's population, 59 percent of its economic output, 58 percent of its carbon emissions, and 53 percent of its forests. These eight environmental powers include the country with the largest population-China; the one with the largest economy and carbon emissions-the United States; and the nation that arguably claims the richest array of biodiversity-Brazil. Together with Germany, Japan, India, Indonesia, and Russia, these countries constitute what could be called the E8-eight nations that disproportionately shape global environmental trends.

Years ago, I found the following and still believe things would be different if those in power would follow these words:
Virginia Woolf proclaimed herself a member of the "Society of Outsiders," saying: "...as a woman I have no country. As a woman I want no country. As a woman my country is the whole world."
