Albert Philip McCabe. Mom met and married Albert (Mac) November 16, 1936. They met through her best friend Aimee Arseneau, who she later named their first daughter after. They were very much in love. He was studying to be an engineer and she worked for the government in the Resettlement Administration Department. She worked there for six years putting Albert through school.

Born November 20, 1910, Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Homer and Blanche Minerd-McCabe. www.minerd.com - The Minerd Web Site. Photo taken around 1953, Pacoima, California. Al McCabe was a well-known engineer. He was the sole inventor of the missile error scorer, now known as the Global Positioning System. He presented it as a patent in 1955. It is not known what became of the patent nor the outcome of the patent. I have an original draft of the patent in which he had red penciled in a co-inventor's name. Hugo E. Stark. It is believed he sold the patent rights because he did not have the money to pursue the project.

He was also the Chief Engineer for the Apollo Spacecraft program in 1965. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Manned Spacecraft Center, Houston, Texas, sent him a letter of appreciation signed by all of the Astronauts involved with program. The letter is dated March 17, 1965. Letter from Astronauts

The Maiden Names Search Site

About in Memory of Site I began this Web page because my Mother, Elizabeth Irene Bryan-McCabe and Albert Philip McCabe passed away and they were not buried in a cemetary but cremated. I wanted to have a place to visit them and view their photos on the Web. Yes, I have photos of them in our home to view but I felt perhaps others in our family would like a place to go to and view their photos in their memory. Their family members are in Pennsylvania and elsewhere all over the USA.
